Not sure why this one is so blurry? Anyway, check out the death staircase and the lack of a banister where the stairs curve. Also there is no coat closet which is slightly problematic.

The kitchen isn't very pretty...but it's much bigger than our current kitchen!

Part of the basement. Notice death staircase #2. The open door leads into Andy's office.

Huge laundry room! I'm in love.

Lovely fenced in backyard!
That is a quick glimpse into our new home! It is 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, 2200 sq feet on a 1/2 acre of land. Oh, and there are more closets/storage areas than I've ever dreamed of. The lack of a coat closet, however, is slightly puzzeling. We have train tracks for both the metra train and freight trains directly behind us though. My dad's house has tracks behind his house and we got used to the train pretty quickly. These trains will be far more frequent, but I'm hoping they won't be bad!
We'll have a guest room, so everyone is welcome to visit :)
Oh, and the tacky furniture is not ours. We obviously haven't moved yet...and we probably never will if I don't get to packing! Packing with a toddler running around is near impossible! Isla either wants to take everything out of the box, or sit inside of it! Thankfully I have a babysitter watching Isla at my dad's house today and tomorrow from 1-6pm so I can finish packing.
Please remind me never to move again. This is so exhausting. This will be our 5th move in 7 years (my mom's townhome, MN apartment, MN townhome, IL apartment, and now our new house. EXHAUSTING.

OMG Betsy I LOVE IT. LOVE IT. Where do I even start?! So much character, so much potential. Clearly a lot of the window treatments will need to go, but that's pretty much par for the course with a new house.
First off, I think the kitchen is adorable. I love the little rounded corner shelves at the end of the counter, reminds me of Kathleen's bookshop from You Got Mail, she had those shelves in her store. And I have been in love with them ever since I've seen that stupid movie. So charming.
And 2200 square feet?! That is massive. What a nice finished basement they have too!
Oh and the curb appeal on that house is fantastic, it is so adorable. Especially the back yard. Gosh, I wish we could just transplant that house into my next door so we could have barbeques in your backyard. :(
Yeah, looks great, I'm so happy for you. And to think, once you're done unpacking you have so much fun babyproofing to look forward to!
It would totally be my dream come true if we could somehow transplant my house next to yours! How fun would that be?!
Anyway, yes I totally love this house and Andy and I are currently discussing renting to own it. Although the asking price is in the $400,000 range which is unacceptable with trains rumbling past hourly. So if we can negotiate something in the mid 3's we might go for it!
I have NO IDEA what to do about the bottom of the basement staircase to prevent Isla from climbing up. Obviously a traditional gate won't work. Any ideas are welcomed :) I might have to get very creative!
Hopefully you'll be able to see the house in person sometime in the future :)
I totally love it! It looks so wonderful and I am amazed you were able to get such a nice house for not very expensive! I will be excited for when I can come out and visit you. Probably not until sometime this summer, but I'm hoping we can make it happen. I've run into a little unexpected snag financially so I won't be able to do much of anything the next 6 or so months, but I'm hoping to at least make it out there. Miss you!
