Since my last post...

Yesterday, Isla threw up all over Andy. The vomit came inches from his mouth. Poor guy. Since Isla wasn't drinking anything, the nurse said we could continue giving her milk unless it made her sick. Well, it made her sick very quickly! Since Isla refused to drink water, multiple flavors of Pedialyte, a Gatorade water combo, and a juice water combo, she was getting dehydrated. She didn't have a wet diaper in 11 hours so the nurse we spoke to advised us to take Isla to the ER. Since Andy was too sick to go, my step mom, Donna, came with us.

Ohhh the ER. How I never want to be there with Isla again. She did look really adorable in her tiny baby gown though. Anyway, we had to wait FOREVER, and waiting in a tiny exam room with a gabillion outlets for Isla to stick her tiny fingers into was not fun for Isla or I. When the nurse finally came in, she said she needed to use a special type of catheter to get a urine sample from Isla. OMG. Having to hold down your baby while someone sticks a contraption up their crotch...horrible! Isla screamed louder than I've ever heard her. Heartbreaking. They drew some blood and started an IV. After an hour or so we discovered they needed to draw blood again because the first sample was contaminated. UGH. It was 11pm at this point and Isla had just fallen asleep. She was not happy with all of the poking, and I don't blame her at all. We were finally released from the hospital around 12:30am.

Isla has been sleeping on and off today. It has been so hard to get her to drink anything aside from milk. I feel so bad for her...she just wants her milk! We've started giving her an ounce or 2 of milk, and then quickly switching the bottle to a Gatorade water mix and Isla has fussed a little, but she drank the fluids like a champ. I'm hoping we'll be able to continue getting her to drink and maybe she can try eating something later. So far, no vomit or diarrhea today...whooo! It seems like her fever is gone too. Andy is also feeling better, so I'm hoping everyone will be back to normal by tomorrow.

Oh my God, that sounds horrible. Horrible! That poor little baby girl, she just shouldn't shouldn't have to experience the ER like that. =( I'm so sad for you guys, I can't imagine. I think I would just have a panic attack. Also, contaminated blood sample? What? What is going on at that hospital, how does something like that happen? Ugh. I hate hospitals, doctor's offices, etc. All of it. So glad to hear she's doing better.

Poor Isla. I hope she is getting better and back to herself quickly. I hope you never get whatever it was that they had, that would not make your trip to the Dells much fun at all! Can't wait to see you next week, have a safe trip.

Oh my, that sounds miserable for all of you! Poor Isla - luckily she's so young that she won't remember that horrible night at the ER. Hope she's feeling better!
