My BIG Girl!

I am reminded every single day that my baby is no longer really a baby. I mean, technically, yes she is, but she is so independent and so mobile that she's leaning more on the toddler end of the spectrum. She has the fastest crawl I've ever seen. She's stands all the time (still holding on to things). She cruises the furniture....often taking a step or 2 without holding on to anything to get from the ottoman to the couch. She just started eating table food yesterday (she was probably ready a few weeks ago, but I have a major choking fear and I was totally holding off!). She gives kisses by opening her mouth and then sticking out her tongue to lick us. She shakes her head "no" when she doesn't want something. She "talks" all of the time. She prefers "reading" books to playing with other toys. Just yesterday she used one of her large toys as a step stool in an effort to get herself up onto the couch to steal Torii's bone. Thankfully, I caught her before she tried hurling her body up towards the dog. Her newest "tricks" are showing us "SO BIG" and clapping when you ask her to. I have no idea how this all happened so quickly!

Baby Isla: (2 weeks old)

Big Girl Isla: (8 months old)

Before I know it, she'll be 1! Ohhhh I hope the time doesn't go by too quickly.

Don't I know it, they grow and change so quickly! The cliche is SO TRUE! ;)

She was such an adorable little peanut of a newborn, I love that picture of her, with her little rolls all curled up in the nook of your shoulder. Ugh, I sorta miss the newborn phase, they are just so sweet and gentle and perfect.

They sure do seem to grow up fast! Isla is such a doll. You must be having so much fun with her, as she's getting more mobile and interactive!
